The game tells the story of Kurt Hectic, a janitor who must reluctantly try to save the Earth from an alien invasion of giant mining vehicles the size of a city called "Minecrawlers". These Minecrawlers not only mine all of Earth's natural resources, but also destroy all humans and cities that stand in their way. With the help of his boss, the (possibly) mad inventor/scientist Dr. Fluke Hawkins, and a genetically engineered bipedal/four-armed robot dog named Bones (though he prefers Max), Kurt must infiltrate each Minecrawler and fight his way to the pilot, whom he must then kill before returning to Hawkins' space station Jim Dandy.
