Marvel's Midnight Suns
Marvel's Midnight Suns is a tactical role-playing game developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games. The game is set in the Marvel universe and offers a mixture of strategy, role-playing and card-based combat mechanics. In the game, players take on the role of "The Hunter", a customizable original character, and lead a team of Marvel superheroes. The story revolves around the battle against the demonic forces of Lilith, the Mother of Demons, who has been resurrected by the nefarious group Hydra. Gameplay consists of strategic, turn-based battles in which players use a deck of skill cards to deploy attacks, abilities and buffs. In between missions, players can explore the Abbey, the center of the game, where they can interact with other heroes, improve their skills and make decisions that affect the story and relationships between the characters.
Story
The Hydra scientist Doctor Faustus resurrects Lilith in the hope of using her to help the Hydra conquer the world. Six months later, the "Midnight Sun" approaches Earth, destabilizing the magic and heralding the return of Lilith's master, Chthon. Doctor Strange, Tony Stark and Carol Danvers try to get a page of the Darkhold from Johnny Blaze, but must retreat to the Abbey to recruit the Midnight Suns and resurrect the Hunter, Lilith's child and murderer. Lilith charms Venom to help her kidnap Wanda Maximoff and destroy Strange's mystical shield. The heroes, including Spider-Man, capture Faustus to learn Lilith's plans, but the Hydra agent Crossbones kills him before they can get any answers. Meanwhile, Lilith casts a spell on Bruce Banner and Wanda, using a gamma accelerant to empower them. The heroes rescue Wanda, banish Sabretooth and destroy the parchment, but Lilith unleashes the demonic Hulk and summons demons worldwide. The heroes confront Lilith, who reveals her plan to destroy Chthon, but inadvertently allows him to possess the hunter. The Hunter drives Chthon away, and Lilith sacrifices herself to destroy the Darkhold and restore her human form. She, the hunter and Chthon's realm are devoured by the dark elf and the heroes believe they are still alive. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom takes possession of the Darkhold and refers to the previous users as "amateurs".
