Maken X

Maken X is a game for the Dreamcast video game console that belongs to the subgenre of "first-person slashers". The game is considered a first-person action game mainly because of the realistic elements in its gameplay. It is unique in that the main character is the weapon (Maken), rather than a person. The word "Maken" literally means "demon sword". The title screen displays the "X", which stands for deus ex machina (Latin for "god from the machine"). The player can control a number of characters by "brainjacking," which turns the person into a vegetable. The woman in the image is the first person controlled when the facility where Maken was created is attacked.
