Madagascar Kartz
Madagascar Kartz is a racing game based on the movie Madagascar by DreamWorks Animation. It was released on October 27, 2009 and is the second game in the Madagascar spin-off series. The game is a simple kart racing game where the player can perform jumps, flips and rolls. There are many different stages from scenes from the series. Playable characters include Alex, Marty, Gloria, Melman, King Julien, Mason and Phil, or all four penguins. The Madagascar Kartz Wheel is included with the Wii version of the game. This wheel is optional. This wheel looks different to the Wii Wheel from Mario Kart Wii. The playable characters include Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe, Gloria the hippo, the penguins, the chimpanzees and King Julien from Madagascar. In addition to Madagascar, two characters from other films are also included: Shrek from Shrek and B.O.B. from Monsters vs. Aliens, all from the DreamWorks Animation series. Race types include Fast Race, Championship, Time Trial and Checkpoint Race. In a championship race, the player collects mangoes and tries to finish first to unlock higher speed classes (50cc, 100cc, 150cc, 200cc, the last one is driven in reverse/mirror mode), more karts and tracks. In Time Trial, players beat their own times and earn medals (gold, silver and bronze). In Checkpoint Race, players collect as many hourglasses as possible before the time runs out. There are several courses in the game. There are also 2 shortcuts on most courses. "I Like to Move It", sung by Reel 2 Real, is the menu theme. The gameplay of the game is similar to that of Mario Kart Wii, from Nintendo. The sequel is Super Star Kartz.
