Imperishable Night
In Imperishable Night, there are a total of eight playable characters in predetermined pairs (and later individually). The pairs work in tandem: One person fires when not focused, while the other emerges and fires when focused, reducing movement speed. The two attacks can differ drastically. For each character, the attack does not change when they are focused, with the exception of Remilia. Some minor details are unique to this game, such as Last Spells - for an enemy, a Last Spell is a bonus spell card that the player can attack without fear of losing life/bombs. On the player side, last spells are secondary "bomb" spell cards that last longer and do more damage, but cost two bomb supplies. There is a meter that indicates how human/youkai (normal/focused) you are, as well as a new "time" system that affects gameplay.
Story
It is the eve of the Harvest Moon Festival in Gensokyo when the youkai sense that something is wrong with the moon. It seems that the moon has been replaced with a fake moon. The main characters stop time and set out to find the culprit in order to guarantee a full moon for the festival. Their journey takes them to the Bamboo Forest of the Lost and finally to Eientei, inhabited by the beings of the moon itself.
