Hidden Agenda follows homicide detective Becky Marney and prosecutor Felicity Graves as they investigate doubts surrounding the guilt of a convicted serial killer. Five years after the Trapper Killer's arrest, Finn awaits execution while maintaining his innocence, prompting the two women to re-examine the case. Players shape the plot via a companion app for smartphones connected to the PS4, making decisions that affect the relationships between characters, uncover evidence, and determine the killer's true identity. The game offers both a single-player story mode and a competitive multiplayer mode in which participants pursue hidden objectives. Through quick-time events, searching for clues, and dialogue options tracked via the app's logbook system, players navigate through three chapters with branching storylines that can lead to multiple possible endings, including the possibility of becoming a suspect themselves.
