Hard Drivin'

Hard Drivin' is a 3D arcade hit from Atari Games. You take control of a high-performance sports car. Your goal is to race around the track as fast as possible and hit as many checkpoints as possible. When you hit a checkpoint, you get extra time to continue driving. On the road there is traffic both in your direction and in the opposite direction, so be careful when you overtake... The track consists of two sections: speed track and stunt track. The speed track is longer, but you can usually reach higher speeds. On the stunt track you have to perform various stunts, such as jumping over bridges, going through a loop and so on. If you crash the car, it won't have serious consequences, because your accident will be shown in a movie sequence. Admire how you crash head-on into the cement truck, ram the minivan or fly off the bridge at the wrong angle.... You lose a few seconds while your car "resets" and you pick up speed again. The home versions retain most of the advanced 3D graphics of the time, but lack the force feedback that was included in the arcade version.
