Guwange

The story of Guwange takes place during the Muromachi period in Japan. During this time, more and more people suffer from shikigami possession. Although the shikigami confer great spiritual powers, the burden on the host causes him to die exactly one year after the possession. However, there is a legend about Guwange, the malevolent god trapped in Mount Gokumon (i.e., the Gates of Hell). If someone possessed by a Shikigami can collect talismans of the five Chinese elements - wood, fire, earth, metal and water - from five demons serving Guwange, then enter the Gokumon and kill Guwange, the Shikigami will be destroyed and the possessed person will not suffer an untimely death.
