Gears of War

A tactical third-person shooter from Epic running on Unreal Engine 3. Gears of War puts the player in a deep and harrowing story about humanity's epic struggle for survival against the Locust Horde, a nightmarish race of creatures that emerge from the bowels of the planet. Unlike other shooters, Gears of War is all about teamwork. All game modes, levels and scenarios are designed to encourage cooperative play, whether with AI partners or human players (with AI teammates having specific strengths, weaknesses and personalities). Players will also have voice recognition and, of course, voice chat to discuss strategies with their friends. In addition to voice chat, players will be able to use Xbox Live for individual matchmaking, view player stats, collect player achievements, customize their games, and create and personalize their player profile.
