Football Manager 2008
Football Manager 2008 is the main title of the 2008 edition of the Football Manager series of soccer management simulation games from Sports Interactive. The version for the United States and Canada is titled Worldwide Soccer Manager 2008, while the South American version is called Fútbol Manager 2008. There are over 5,000 playable teams from more than 50 countries. The demo for Football Manager 2008 was released on September 30, 2007. Originally, the game was supposed to be released on October 19, 2007, but due to early delivery by many retailers that carried the game, Sports Interactive postponed the release date to October 18, 2007. Several problems occurred in the game, most of which were reported via SI Games' Issues forum, after which a "beta patch" was released. This patch did not fix all the problems, but was released early to fix the most important issues. A full patch was scheduled to be released on November 9, 2007, but was delayed and finally released on November 22, 2007. The second and final patch was released on February 14, 2008 and updated on February 20 to fix three major problems that remained in the game. As with the previous games, the patch updates the game's database with the latest transfers and fixes many of the remaining bugs in the game.
