Flying Warriors
The boy Ryuhi was born in an unexplored region of China shrouded in mystery and grew up in the high mountains. There he was taught by his wise teacher Juan. Although he was still young, he became a master of Kempo. One day, his teacher Juan was attacked and robbed of the secret scrolls of Hiryu-no-Ken, of which he was the author. Ryuhi possessed the 6th volume of the secret scrolls, the Shingan-no Sho, the book of the spiritual eye, which Juan was able to rescue. Ryuhi begins his journey to Shorinji to fulfill Juan's last request. Gengai, the bishop of Shorinji, received the young Ryuhi, who was considered one of the titans of Shourinji Kempo. Six years later, they receive a letter with a challenge from the Tusk Soldiers, a mysterious organization of enemies of Shorinji. Ryuhi is determined to take part in the upcoming "World Tournament of Contact Sports" as a representative of the Shorinji. His wish is to prevent the Tusk Soldiers from becoming champions of contact sports at the tournament. Ryuhi has learned from Gengai that it was actually the Tusk Soldiers who attacked his teacher and stole his secret scrolls. As he sets off for the world tournament, he thinks of his teacher Juan and of keeping the fighting spirit burning. The game features battles in various formats, such as kicks and fireballs to fend off monsters in scrolling sections, a system during one-on-one duels against Tusk Soldiers or a few martial arts tournaments where the player must attack a mark that appears on the opponent's body or defend the area when it appears on them (this system is similar to Culture Brain's original Flying Dragon for the NES), and RPG-style command battles against monster bosses. When faced with a Tusk Soldier or other mundane villain, Rick can transform into a costumed superhero form or swap with one of his teammates. The player must switch into flying warrior form to use the characters' magical powers and defend against the Tusk Soldiers' spells.
