Empire: Total War

Empire: Total War introduces a host of revolutionary new features, including true 3D naval combat. For the first time in the Total War series, you can intuitively command individual ships or vast fleets across seascapes with extraordinary water and weather effects that play a huge role in your glorious success or ignominious defeat. After firing cannons at your enemy, you'll grab his ship and prepare to board it, taking control of your men who will fight in close combat on the decks of these wooden monsters. In addition, Empire: Total War will further enhance the Total War series' signature 3D battles and turn-based campaign map. Real-time battles will be challenged by the use of cannons and muskets, challenging players to master new formations and tactics resulting from the increasing importance of gunpowder in warfare. And the campaign map, for many the centerpiece of Total War, introduces a host of new and improved elements, including new systems for trade, diplomacy and espionage with agents, a refined and streamlined user interface, improved advisors and a greatly expanded scope that includes the riches of India, the turbulence of Europe and, for the first time, the untapped potential of the United States of America.
