Elevator Action Returns

Elevator Action Returns

Elevator Action Returns, also known as Elevator Action II, is a run-and-gun arcade game developed and published by Taito in 1994. It is the sequel to Elevator Action (1983) and offers a much darker and more realistic setting. Elevator Action II keeps the elevator gimmick from the original, but expands the game system, replacing the espionage motif with a new scenario in which a paramilitary team fights against a terrorist group.

Story

Elevator Action Returns is the sequel to Taito's 1983 game. At the beginning of the game you choose one of three characters: Kart Bradfield, Edie Burrett and Jad the Taff. Each of them has its strengths and weaknesses, as well as different primary and secondary weapons. Your task is to obtain the computer data hidden behind specially marked doors (colored red) in six buildings. Entering blue doors during the game will trigger a spinning wheel with various items, and pressing the fire button will give you whatever it stops on. These include points, health items, machine guns and rocket launchers. As in the original game, you can use elevators to travel between floors. You can shoot at various objects to destroy them, such as barrels and drums. With this you'll be able to defeat various enemies, including minions, zombie soldiers, karate agents, thugs in trench coats, guard dogs and more. Avoid getting shot by these enemies. There are cameras scattered throughout each building that you can destroy. If you are spotted by one of these cameras, a short siren will sound. You only have a limited amount of time to clear each building. When the time runs out, the building blows up and you lose a life.
