One-Handed is a futuristic side-scrolling shooter with explosive graphics, pounding techno music and simulated 3D gameplay.
Story
One-Handed is set in a fictional future during a war between the Earth colony Sodom[6] and the Moon colony Selene. The "First Moon War" led to the destruction of most of the Earth's surface and the establishment of a totalitarian regime on the planet. The game recounts the events of the "Second Moon War", in which the moon once again attacks the Earth for its natural resources. Selene's tactic is to send one-man combat spaceships called "one-handers" on kamikaze missions to inflict as much damage as possible on the planet before they are destroyed. The player takes on the role of one of these pilots attacking Earth's capital. During the course of the game, the Selenian military satellite Hyperion transmits the orders and targets. The on-board central computer "EOS" summarizes the orders. EOS also records the player's flight and combat data and forwards it to Hyperion. After reaching the last target, Hyperion informs the player that the combat pattern of the latest unmanned EOS fighter has been completed. As a reward for their heroic efforts, the player is given the honor of being the target of the final EOS test. If the player dies, they will advance two classes and be awarded the Order of Sirius. After surviving the intense artillery fire of the test, the pilot wonders why he has to be killed by his allies and questions his military leaders' reasons for going to war.
