Dungeons of Dredmor
Roguelike games are back! You take on the role of a giant eyebrow boy or girl. Your task is to defeat Lord Dredmor and save the kingdom from the forces of darkness! Each level is a randomly generated floor of interconnected rooms filled with monsters, traps, loot and various objects. The game is turn-based and has a huge skill tree! You can combine 7 different skills to create your own combos and strategies, the resistance and damage systems are really great. The quest system is a bit different to other games. You can pray to (about) 3 shiny statues per floor and they give you tasks (like defeating a boss of the same floor level or finding secret items) and when you complete a quest you get an artifact (a special item).
Story
Long ago, the dark Lord Dredmor was bound by great and mighty heroes in the darkest dungeons beneath the earth. Centuries later, the magical shackles that hold him down are loosening and his power is growing stronger. The land cries out for a new hero, a mighty warrior or a mystical sorcerer as described in the prophecies of old. Unfortunately, what they have is you... Enter the dungeons of Dredmor! Embrace your destiny! Face evil as the world has never seen it before - the fearsome Swarmies, the surging Thrusties and the cute nest-building Diggles. Worship Inconsequentia, the goddess of pointless side quests, or try your luck as a follower of the nameless Lutefisk god. Cast powerful magic learned from the dark warlocks of the School of Necronomiconomics, or summon the Viking runes of your ancestors to pelt your enemies with thunder and lightning! Discover the power you have with a bizarre arsenal of devastating weapons such as the Interdimensional Axe, the Plastic Ring and the Invisible Shield (if you can remember where you left it). Wear shoes adorned by the dwarven glitterforgers who have now committed suicide out of shame, and enjoy destroying giant, moustachioed brick demons with a mace adorned with cheesy, delicious bacon.
