Dragon Spirit

Dragon Spirit is a vertical-scrolling arcade shooter game published by Namco in 1987 and licensed to Atari Games for American production and distribution. In the kingdom of Mitgult, a snake demon named Zawell escapes from his captivity after a thousand years and kidnaps Princess Alicia. A soldier named Amul is chosen to rescue her and destroy Zawell. He points his sword into the sky and transforms into a powerful blue dragon. He can breathe fire and drop bombs and gather up to thirteen additional powers on his journey. Amul must fight nine of Zawell's most powerful beasts, one at the end of each stage, before facing Zawell himself.
