Story
Long ago, a dragon named Bolgrot came to the eternal province of Amakna. Young Rykke Errel was the only one brave enough to face the terrible creature. Instead of turning him into dust, as it easily could have done, the dragon bowed to the young knight and swore allegiance to him. Months passed and Rykke met Helsephine, a young sorceress, and fell madly in love with her. When he introduced Helsephine to Bolgrot, Rykke never imagined what would happen. The dragon, enraged, killed sweet Helsephine and flew away, destroying everything in its path. Rykke pursued the dragon into his cave. When he found him, the old friends faced each other in a mighty battle. Using his weapons and magic, Rykke managed to bring Bolgrot down. But mortally wounded, the young hero died shortly thereafter. In search of an explanation for Bolgrot's sudden violence, the sages of Amakna discovered six unusually colored eggs called DOFUS in the dragon's entrails. It was later discovered that these eggs, when reunited, possessed absolute power. Absolute, but also impermanent. The sages decided to hide these terrible relics from the rest of the world. In the centuries that followed, the secret of the DOFUS' existence was so well kept that people eventually forgot all about them. But one cursed day, the keepers of the secret discovered that the DOFUS had disappeared. The news spread quickly, arousing fear and desire. It wasn't long before adventurers began showing up in Amakna, lured by the prospect of glory or loot. From then on, the fate of Amakna was uncertain, and the appearance of numerous creatures as fearsome as they were unknown added to the confusion.
