Devastation

The year is 2075, and instead of a bright and peaceful future, human civilization is in a state of polluted, decaying ruins similar to post-World War II Europe. A corrupt megacorporation, Grathius Inc, controls the world by force, deploying pacification squads that kill anyone who opposes them. The game's protagonist is Flynn Haskell, the leader of a small group of terrorist/resistance fighters determined to rid the world of Grathius and their evil machinations. Later, the player meets the scientist Eve, whom Flynn considers the best helper he can get. Flynn is captured and imprisoned while exploring, but he manages to escape with another resistance member named Duffy, who also helps him in his next objective, Urbia, since she is acquainted with its resistance leader Tara. The main plot of the game revolves around a new technology developed by Grathius, nanomachine-based cloning, which allows the corporation to resurrect its fallen troops and give them an unstoppable immortal army. Over the course of the game, the player travels from San Francisco to Taiwan to Japan, recruiting new characters for the resistance and capturing Grathius' cloning devices for their own use.
