Dead Space: Ignition

Dead Space: Ignition

Dead Space Ignition is a sequel to Dead Space 2 and takes place between the two main games. Executive producer Steve Papoutsis describes the game as a "comic book-style interactive game." It is written by Antony Johnston, the author of the Dead Space games and comic book series.

Story

An engineer named Franco Delile and his partner Sarah are called to repair an elevator on Sprawl (a space station made of a piece of Titan, one of Saturn's moons, that was "torn from Earth"). Then they are called to repair a main computer and find that the damage was intentional. While traveling between jobs, they hear distant screams and investigate. They come across people being attacked by grotesque monstrosities called "Necromorphs". Franco and Sarah escape by streetcar. From then on, they are sent across the Sprawl to desperately try to repair the station systems and help other survivors, all the while being attacked by Necromorphs. Depending on the player's choice, Sarah is killed by asphyxiation, Necromorphs, or by Franco after receiving a coded message; he may be a Unitologist. The story ends with Franco reaching Sprawl Hospital and reviving the comatose Isaac Clarke, leading to the opening scene of Dead Space 2.
