Computer Space

Computer Space is a video arcade game that was released in 1971 by Nutting Associates. It was developed by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney, both of whom would later found Atari, Inc. It is widely believed to have been the world's first commercially sold coin-operated video game, six months before the release of the Magnavox Odyssey and a year before Atari's Pong. It was first tested at The Dutch Goose in August 1971, then unveiled at the MOA trade show on October 15, 1971, and finally officially released in November 1971. The coin-operated, minicomputer-controlled Galaxy Game was not sold commercially, but appeared exclusively at Stanford University around the same time.
