CLANNAD
Clannad follows the life of Tomoya Okazaki, a high school delinquent who meets many people, including five girls, in his last year at school and helps them solve their individual problems. Clannad's gameplay follows a branching storyline that features predetermined scenarios with interaction progression, and focuses on the player character's attraction to the five main female characters. The game was the best-selling PC game in Japan at the time of its release and made the national top 50 several times afterward.
Story
Tomoya Okazaki is a third-year student at Hikarizaka Private High School and leads a life full of resentment. His mother died in a car accident when he was young. His father Naoyuki then resorted to alcohol and gambling to cope. This led to constant fights between the two until Naoyuki dislocated Tomoya's shoulder. Unable to play on his basketball team anymore, Tomoya began to distance himself from other people. Since then, he has had a distant relationship with his father and naturally became a delinquent over time. On his way to school, Tomoya meets a strange girl named Nagisa Furukawa and wonders if she even likes school. He helps her, and over time Tomoya realizes that his life is taking a new direction.
