Carmageddon: Max Damage
In Carmageddon, the player competes with one vehicle against a number of other computer-controlled competitors in different environments, including cities, mines and industrial areas. The player has a certain amount of time to finish each race, but more time can be gained by collecting bonuses, damaging the competitors' cars or running over pedestrians. Races are completed by either completing the course as in a normal racing game, "scrapping" (destroying) all other race cars, or killing all pedestrians in the level. The game stood out for its realistic and groundbreaking driving physics and the possibility of shooting movies in the game. It was also one of the first examples of sandbox 3D driving games and may have influenced other later games such as Driver and the Grand Theft Auto series.
