Carcassonne
Carcassonne begins with a single face-up landscape tile and 71 others that have been shuffled face down and from which the players draw. On each turn, a player draws a new landscape tile and places it adjacent to tiles already face-up. The new tile must be placed so that it continues the elements of the adjacent tiles: roads must connect to roads, fields to fields, and cities to cities. A section of the game board after several rounds. After placing each new tile, the player who placed it may choose to place a figure on an element of that newly placed tile. The player placing the figure may not use a figure to claim elements of the tile that extend or connect to elements already claimed by another player. However, it is possible for terrain features claimed by opposing players to be “shared” by subsequently placing tiles that connect them. For example, two field tiles, each with a follower on it, can be connected by another terrain tile to form a single field. The game ends when the last tile has been placed. At that point, all elements (including fields) earn points for the players with the most followers on them. The player with the most points wins the game.
