Black Tiger
Black Tiger, known as Black Dragon in Japan, is an action game released by Capcom for the arcades in 1987. A barbarian hero jumps and fights his way through a large number of colorful levels peppered with enemies. The sprawling, two-dimensional levels, which scroll in eight directions, are filled with hidden bonuses that encourage and reward exploration. Although some of these bonuses consist of dubious and often self-evident "advice," most come in the form of "zenny coins," a currency that allows the player to buy such things as upgrades for their weapons and armor, keys to treasure chests, and potions against poisoning. Special items that unlock coins, upgraded armor, full vitality, extra lives, extra time or just bonus points can be found by attacking certain walls. As a reward for reaching a certain score, the player's vitality bar increases up to three times.
