Story
The game begins when Marlowe is taken from a helicopter to the front. Preston gets to know his new comrades and learns from Redford that life in Bad Company is much less formal than in other military units. Artillery fire destroys the convoy and the troops' truck. Here the player learns to look, jump, duck, shoot, fire grenades and repair vehicles. Mike-One-Juliet, the mission leader, sends Bravo-One Charlie (Preston's squad) to take out a Russian artillery battery and later fire on the incoming vehicles attacking the Juneau convoy. The squad is then sent to clear a Russian-occupied river crossing when the Russians destroy the bridge. Bravo-One is sent to clear a farm occupied by the Russians before they are withdrawn. When their helicopter is shot down by anti-aircraft fire, they are ordered to destroy the anti-aircraft positions and raid another Russian-occupied farm in the path of the Juneau convoy. As the squad joins the Juneau convoy, they are attacked by another artillery barrage. They barely escape and are sent to destroy radar jammers so that an air strike can destroy the artillery. After the airstrike, Bravo-One clears out all the survivors and encounters the Legionnaire Mercenaries, a mercenary group considered to be the strongest military organization in the world. Haggard finds a gold bar in the suit of a dead Legionnaire mercenary, which arouses her interest in the Legionnaires' gold. On a mission that should be Redford's last before he retires, the squad is sent through more Russian territory when they find a house with the Legionnaires' insignia on a sign out front: Acta Non Verba - Latin for "action, not words". Haggard sends Marlowe inside to investigate the house. There, Marlowe finds the first box of gold. The troops had been ordered to destroy fuel and rocket depots and then rendezvous with a US armored division and escort them to the Russian-held city of Zabograd. Bravo-One Charlie is sent ahead to clear the pass of anti-tank missiles and escort the tanks to the other side of the city where the main attack is to take place. The squad is then sent to destroy a Russian radio post before calling for reinforcements, but they are too late as the call goes out and more Russian troops arrive. At that moment, a missile hits a US tank nearby, prompting Mike-One-Juliet to send the squad to defend it from enemy reinforcements until more US troops arrive. Mike-One-Juliet then sends them to a harbor full of suspicious activity, saying that if they do a good job, she can get them out of the company and into a better unit. They arrive at the port but find that it is full of mercenaries. The squad, led by Haggard and the thought of gold, fight their way through, but after investigating the bodies, they find nothing. Then they spot some trucks and watch them drive away. As they drive away, a gold bar falls out of the back and they are determined to follow them and get the gold. Shortly after they arrive at the Serdaristan border, Bravo-One Charlie spots the trucks crossing the border and realizes that they can no longer follow them as Serdaristan is neutral in the war. Overcome with greed, Haggard runs across the border and "single-handedly invades a neutral country". When asked why they were in Serdaristan, Redford explains to Mike-One-Juliet that it was his idea to wipe out a potential threat. Redford's term of service is then extended by another year. This infuriates Redford and he tells the squad that they are going to make a run for it. First they destroy three radio towers to cover their tracks. Then Redford finds out that the gold is in another harbor. After fighting their way through, they are about to board the Legionnaires' cargo ship when the US Army shows up and takes them prisoner. The army sends Bravo-One Charlie on a top-secret mission to Serdaristan to capture the president, who they believe is selling weapons to the Russians. However, the squad realizes that Serdaristan is no longer neutral when they witness their helicopter being shot down by Serdaristani air defenses. Mike-One-Juliet sends them to destroy the positions so that another helicopter can be flown in to pick them up with the President once they've captured him. Later, Miss July sees a lot of activity at the presidential palace, so she sends Bravo-One a laser sight and directs them to an enemy weapons cache. They make their way through the president's personal golf course and make their way to the presidential palace. When they get there, they discover that the grounds are crawling with legionnaires. They fight their way in to get the President, but when Redford calls for an evacuation helicopter, Mike-One-Juliet tells them that she can't because the Army has abandoned them and they are on their own. President Serdar then informs them that he has a personal Mi-24 Hind that they can use to escape Serdaristan. The group then takes the President
