Battalion Wars 2
This sequel to Battalion Wars plays similarly to its predecessor, combining real-time strategy with third-person shooter. The game's storyline traces the decades-long war between six factions (Solar Empire, Western Frontier, Anglo-Islands, Iron Legion, Tundran Territories, Xylvania) and unfolds through contemporary missions that advance the conflict and flashbacks that reveal its history. Players control a soldier or a land, sea or air vehicle to go directly into battle and command other units. The Wii Remote is used for aiming and firing, but selecting and commanding units is done by traditional button pressing. The Wii Nunchuk's thumb stick controls the player's movements, and evasive maneuvers are controlled by gestures. In the single-player campaign mode, the player takes control of the various factions at different points in the history of the conflict. The game also features three online multiplayer modes. Battle mode is a timed two-player game where the objective is to score more points than the other player by destroying enemy units. Assault mode is a two-player timed game in which one player tries to destroy the other player's resources and fortifications while the other defends. Co-op mode is a two-player timed game in which both players work together to complete special online missions that are not part of the single-player campaign. Local offline multiplayer mode is not supported.
