Atonement: Scourge of Time

The last king was killed over 400 years ago and the global rule over the country ceased to exist. Over the years, law and order began to fade, people began to divide among themselves, large cities gradually disappeared and were replaced by smaller settlements, and the whole country slowly began to decay. Many believe that this is because the Angelkind abandoned it. Now bandits roam the streets and wild animals roam the fields. The only safety is found in smaller villages where groups of people have banded together to survive. Relations between the various sentient peoples are very marginal and fragile. Some have been at odds with each other for a long time, sometimes escalating into full-blown war. The Holy Order of Reconciliation tries to keep people together, but even its influence is limited to a handful of villages. And to make matters worse, many believe that one day an "avenger" will roam the land as punishment for all sins and put a quick end to it.
