Area 51
Area 51 is the only action-packed 1st-person shooter set in the US government's most secret and secure military facility. The US Army has received a distress signal from Area 51, where a viral outbreak has crippled the research facility and the automatic quarantine procedures have trapped all scientific and military personnel. A small task force led by specialist Ethan Cole of the HAZMAT (Hazardous Materials) Division is dispatched to investigate the case. In the role of Cole, players explore five massive levels within Area 51 and discover a mutagenic side effect of the virus that controls the minds of the infected, as well as an ancient alien colony buried beneath the facility. Using a variety of human and alien weapons, players must uncover terrifying conspiracies such as the Roswell alien crash and the faked moon landing to solve the mysteries of Area 51 before the viral mutagen is released and irrevocably changes all life on Earth.
Story
In July 1947, an alien spaceship crashed near Roswell, New Mexico, in the United States. The spaceship was recovered by the US Air Force and taken to Area 51 in Nevada, where the sole survivor of the crash, a powerful Grey named Edgar, was held captive by the US military. Eventually, the Greys opened a dialogue with the Illuminati, led by the ominous Mr. White (Phil Proctor), and struck a deal with them. The Illuminati gave the Greys a research base three miles below the surface of Area 51, the use of the base as a landing pad, and human test subjects on which they would work with human scientists to research a mutagenic virus to use in a war against their homeworld. In return, the Greys granted the Illuminati exclusive access to Grey technology. The Illuminati used some of this technology to spy on the population. The Greys and the human scientists eventually developed a powerful alien entity - known as "Theta" - that spread the virus. What many of the scientists working on the project didn't know was that the Greys and the Illuminati were also planning to use the virus against the Earth's population and dominate the planet. When Dr. Winston Cray learned of the plan, he released "Theta" and the mutagenic virus throughout Area 51 to stop them. The military then sent a rapid response force led by Major Bridges (Powers Boothe) to quarantine and contain the virus. HAZMAT Team Delta, the first team sent into Area 51, is ambushed by the "Theta" creature and injured before retreating deeper into the base. HAZMAT Team Bravo, consisting of team leader Ramirez, McCan, Crispy and mission specialist Ethan Cole, is sent out to find Delta.
