Anstoss 3
In 2000, the second sequel, Anstoss 3, was released. It sold more than 200,000 copies within a year. It received good ratings from the game magazines (e.g. PC Player 87%, Gamestar 88%, PC Games 86%). However, it was virtually filled with bugs at the beginning, which was criticized by the gaming community. Nevertheless, it was received with enthusiasm by Anstoss fans, since it contained the most important elements of Anstoss 2 Gold and was able to deepen them even more. The 3D game presentation is considered to be particularly successful. The player could watch a complete match of his team reduced to nine minutes. The scene mode was also considered revolutionary, since the scenes were not pre-calculated as in the previous parts. The game scenes were commented by the well-known soccer commentator Günther Koch. Also new was the implementation of the club grounds. From apple trees to fitness courses and doping labs to skyscrapers, the player could expand his club grounds with buildings, objects and creatures with and without benefits. With the release of the final patch to version 1.40 it became almost bug-free and was able to convince Anstoss players. In total, over one million copies of Anstoss 3 have been sold to date, making it one of the most successful PC games in Germany. Despite its age, Anstoss 3 is considered the best part of the Anstoss series due to its great depth of play together with a successful text and 3D mode. The fact that Anstoss 3 is still very popular today is also related to the multiplayer mode. This allows up to 4 players to compete against each other in the network.
