Amplitude

Amplitude

Amplitude is a reboot of the critically acclaimed controller-based rhythm action game developed by Harmonix and originally released in 2003. Amplitude features over 20 songs composed by Harmonix for an optimal beatmatching experience, with contributions from Freezepop, Danny B, Jim Guthrie and others. Many of the developers of the original game are actively involved in the reboot. The new Amplitude is treated like a classic sci-fi concept album. There is a story that runs through the game and is reflected in many ways in the images, the music and the lyrics. Players race along long, winding paths made up of the various musical elements of a song. Each track is distinguished by the musical sounds of synthesizers, drums, vocals and bass. As players blast away the patterns of gems on these tracks, they release musical energy and recreate the song hidden within. The game is easy to learn and difficult to master. Achieving a top score is a challenge and worth bragging about in the online leaderboards. Amplitude supports up to four players locally. Challenge your friends and use devastating power-ups in frenetic multiplayer matches to secure your place at the top.

Story

In the year 2112, nanotechnologists from the Department of Applied Meta-Prionics and Limbic Tuning are developing organic machines that can be inserted into the human brain to access both the physical and metaphysical secrets within. Attempting to create synesthesia, a "gift" that one of the technologists has, Mari programs a new group of bots to enter her mind and unleash this enhanced visual/aural perception. This flood of images and sounds is overwhelming and unfortunately Mari's brain shuts down. You will use the AMPLITUDE Operating System to invade Mari's memories, senses and emotions. There you will blast away the protective scar that her brain has placed around these synesthetic senses and bring her back to life.
