Alien Shooter 2: Reloaded

In the first half of the 21st century, the war on terror became a global phenomenon as increasingly blatant and rapid attacks hit the lives of ordinary people. The public outcry to stop the madness inevitably grew louder. The world's armed forces slowly but steadily retooled their methods, weapons and tactics to fight people willing to die for their cause. One of the consequences was the persecution of civilians on an unprecedented scale, leaving destruction and misery in its wake. The world was soon rebuilt and a new age of prosperity and technological advancement began. Science focused on developing a viable fusion energy source and new technologies that could harness this new energy. A group of corporations was given almost complete freedom to pursue these goals. This may have been dangerous a hundred years ago, but in 2112 it was considered appropriate and was supposed to foster creativity and growth on an unprecedented scale. But it didn't.
