Alan Wake

Alan Wake is a psychological horror action adventure game developed by Remedy Entertainment. The story centers on Alan Wake, a bestselling thriller author who suffers from writer's block. He travels with his wife Alice to the small town of Bright Falls to find a new environment. Shortly after their arrival, Alice disappears under mysterious circumstances. While searching for her, Alan discovers the pages of a thriller novel that he cannot remember. The events described on these pages begin to manifest in reality and Alan encounters hostile supernatural beings known as "Taken", who are controlled by the darkness. The game is about finding your way around Bright Falls and fighting these dark forces with light. The story explores the themes of reality and fiction, as well as the influence of the written word.

Story

When best-selling author Alan Wake's wife disappears while on vacation, his search turns up pages from a thriller he can't even remember. A dark menace haunts the small town of Bright Falls and brings Wake to the brink of madness as he tries to unravel the mystery and save his love.
