AI War: Fleet Command
"You are outgunned. You are massively outnumbered. You must win." Those are your orders. Humanity has already fought its war against the machines - and lost. AI death squadrons guard every planet and wormhole, the few remaining human settlements are held captive in bubbles in orbit, and the AI has turned its attention outward, away from the galaxy, toward alien threats or unknown possibilities. This inattention is our only hope: a small resistance, too insignificant to be noticed by AI headquarters, has survived. These are the troops you will command. The AI sub-commanders will fight you to the death when they see you - but your chance is to quietly overwhelm those sub-commanders without alerting headquarters to the danger before it's too late. There are a few things in your favor. Your ships are much faster. You have safe AI routines to automate defenses and mining outposts. You have production techniques that allow you to produce fully equipped unmanned space fighters in seconds. There will never be more than a few thousand of your ships against tens of thousands of them, but through careful strategy you must somehow reach and destroy the heavily guarded AI cores. Penetrate the galaxy, steal the AI technology, recapture the planets you need for your goals, and save what's left of humanity. But if you draw too much attention to yourself, all the power of the AI overlords will come crashing down on you.
