Izumi Tsubasu x Palette 14th Project. 9-nine- Episode 1 is the first volume of a series of supernatural mystery games. Episode 1 tells a story centered around Miyako Kujo. The volumes of the 9-nine series share the same setting and world, but each volume focuses on a different heroine. 9-nine- is a story about the city of Shiromitsugawa, where mysterious artifacts and the superpowers they give their users can be found. It is a story about the growing trust and budding romance between the protagonist and the heroine, and also a detective story in which they hunt the culprit behind a series of supernatural murders. Each game has a standalone story that can be enjoyed on its own.
Story
The setting: Shiromitsugawa, an ordinary university town that has made several failed attempts to boost tourism and revitalize itself, including a high-budgeted but poorly written anime based on local folklore. A storm is brewing in the sleepy town. We follow Kakeru Niimi, a man who can be a bit brusque at times, but has a strong sense of responsibility and a good heart. Kakeru's normal life is thrown into chaos when the sacred relic of the local shrine breaks. In the aftermath of this event, several young men and women with superhuman abilities awaken. What was once an ordinary life in an ordinary town soon becomes a search for a super-powered serial killer before he can strike again.
